MILWAUKEE – The Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference announced the winners of the 2018-19 All-Sports Award trophies on Tuesday morning, which are indicative of a program's overall excellence across each sport league wide. While the Raiders didn't take home the top prize on either the men's or women's side, the final rankings show just what a great competitor that MSOE is turning into in the NACC.
The men took home a second-place finish among all conference teams, with only Aurora University besting them. It was the Raiders best finish since they held the same place back during the 2014-15 school year. MSOE won the regular-season men's soccer title, shared the regular-season men's basketball crown with Concordia Wisconsin, and won the men's volleyball tournament title, earning them an index score of 10.722.
The women of the Red & White locked down a fourth-place finish with an index of 9.625, just .125 points behind third place Benedictine. The female teams have been consistent in the All-Sports award department, locking down their third fourth place finish in a row, with softball being the biggest contributor. Prior to this streak, the Raiders best finish was three seventh place finishes in 2008-09, 2013-14, and 2015-16.
Every single team within MSOE athletics will use the final standings as bulletin board material for next year, coming together for the greater good to try and win MSOE's second All-Sports Award in the 2019-20 season.
