MSOE Baseball Leaves Florida with a Win

Friday 3/2/19

MSOE (2-7) - 6 vs. Grove City (1-0) – 11

Despite leading Grove City in hits 15 to 11, the Raiders could not capitalize to take the game.  MSOE had plenty of opportunities, but left 11 on base against Wolverines.  MSOE led the game in the 3rd 4-2; however, Grove City put 4 runs up in the 4th to take the lead.  MSOE hoped regain the lead with 2 runs in the 7th only to give up 5 runs in the 9thNick Gross had 3 hits on 4 at bats while Sophomore Nick Stricker had 2 hits on 4 at bats driving in 1 run.

MSOE (3-7) – 3 vs. Grove City (1-1) - 1

In a rematch of the previous game, the Raiders wanted to leave the "florido" (flowers) with some momentum.  It was not until the 5th inning that the Red and white would get on the board.  Sophomore Nick Stricker doubled to drive in Sophomore Justin Bickman and Freshman Brandon Beauchamp.  Grove City tried to mount a comeback, but Sophomore Noah Davison came in to close out the game.  Sophomore Mason Lebreck earned the win for the Raiders. 

MSOE returns to the diamond March 16-17th against Finlandia at Henry Aaron Field.
