MILWAUKEE – The No. 11/13 MSOE hockey team suffered a 5-0 defeat at the hands of Lake Forest Friday evening at the Kern Center.
The Raiders (6-2-1, 3-2 NCHA) lost for just the second time this season, allowing the Foresters (7-3, 4-1 NCHA) to score three power play goals in the game.
Lake Forest opened the scoring with a power play goal in 8:07 into the first period, then doubled the advantage with another power play tally 9:18 into the second frame. An even-strength goal just under four minutes later would make it 3-0.
The visitors then tacked on a pair of third-period goals to put the game away with a goal at 6:58 and another power play score at 16:21.
MSOE struggled to get its offense on track in the game, conceding a 28-19 shot advantage. Freshman Rock Boynton made 23 saves in goal for the Red & White.
The Raiders return to the ice Saturday at Aurora. The puck drops at 3 p.m.
