MILWAUKEE – The MSOE hockey team fell behind 3-0 then seized the momentum in the second half of the game, but could not come back in falling to No. 3/4 Adrian 3-1 Friday evening at the Kern Center.
The Raiders (8-9-1, 4-7 NCHA) outshot the visitors 19-15 in the second period and 12-5 in the third period in pulling one goal back on the Bulldogs (14-4, 10-1 NCHA).
Senior Brett Wagner lit the lamp for his team-leading sixth goal of the season, tucking in a rebound off an initial shot from senior Jerad Tafoya. Senior James Ring also notched an assist on the play.
Senior Zach Woodman made 27 saves in goal.
Adrian opened the scoring with a pair opening-period goals just 2:05 apart at 8:02 and 10:07. It then tacked on a third goal at 13:10 of the second period.
Despite allowing the third goal, MSOE came out in the second period the aggressors, which paid off when it got on the board just 28 seconds after falling behind 3-1.
The Raiders continued to take their shots but were unable to pull any closer. They finished with a 39-30 shot advantage in the game.
Kevin Entmaa made 38 saves for the Bulldogs.
MSOE returns to action Saturday, hosting Trine at 4 p.m.
