Men’s Track & Field Claims DMR Championship

KENOSHA, Wisconsin – The MSOE men's track & field team won the distance medley relay at the 2018 NACC Indoor Championships on its way to tying for fourth place Sunday at the Tarble Center.

The Raiders scored 43 team points to equal Concordia Chicago at the meet.

The DMR team of seniors Trey Horbinski, Tripp Horbinski, sophomore Blake Bostwick, and freshman Brian Jimenez combined on a time of 10:44.28 to win the event by nearly 10 full seconds (9.98) over second place.

Trey Horbinski's posted a pair of individual scoring performances in the 800m and the 3000m. He shared the team's top individual finish in third place of the 800m with a time of 2:00.80. He also ran 9:31.00 in the 3000m to score in eighth place.

The 3000m was one of three events where the Raiders scored multiple athletes, as sophomore Nick Bath was sixth in 9:22.84. Bath also finished third in the 5000m, finishing the distance in 16:00.74.

Bostwick also scored in the mile run, taking eighth in 4:44.84, just behind sophomore teammate Noah Vaculik in sixth place with a time of 4:41.10.

In addition to the 3000m and mile, the Raiders also scored two athletes in the high jump where freshman Alex Moran cleared a height of 6-0 1/2 to take fourth. Fellow frosh Keaton Harrison was eighth at 5-4 1/2.

Junior Conner Enciso and freshman Hayden Heun added sixth-place finishes at the meet while junior McCoy Swanson also scored in the 400m. Enciso finished with a final height of 12-5 1/2 in the pole vault and Heun threw 42-11 3/4 in the weight throw. Swanson ran the 400m in 52.29 to take eighth.

Some Raiders will continue the indoor season next Friday at a Last Chance Qualifier at Carthage in the same facility as today's meet.
