DePERE, Wisconsin – The MSOE rowing team placed in the top two of each of the seven races in which it entered, winning a pair of varsity races, at the Tail of the Fox Regatta Sunday on the Fox River.
The Raiders put boats in both first and second in both the Open 4 and Open 8 races to highlight the day. They also saw junior Jake Schilling take second in the Open 1.
In the Open 4, the 'A' boat of Chris Gloeckle, Seth LiaBraaten, Jonah Meffert, Robert Lancaster, and coxswain Francis Sena topped the field, with the team's 'B' crew taking second. That boat featured Nick Herche, Ryan Boatright, Peter Schwichtenberg, and cox Jacob Craig.
MSOE boasted the top two boats in the Open 8, as well. The 'A' entry featured Gloeckle, Lancaster, Schwichtenberg, Boatright, Herche, Craig, Jack Esson, and Sam Schweizer, with Savannah Duenweg at coxswain.
Schilling placed second in his race among four entries while there were five total entries in each of the Open races.
The Red & White added a second-place showing in the Lightweight 4, featuring Sena as cox, Herche, Chapman-Aldridge, Losch, and Craig.
The Raiders also had some impressive showings with members of the MSOE Women's Club Rowing Team. The club itself took second among five crews in the Open 4, beating both entries from Marquette. Then, MSOE won both the Open Mixed 4 and Open Mixed 8 races, taking first and second in the Open 4 competition.
