Rowing Showing Improvements All Around

MSOE rowing has had an active couple of weeks, traveling to races in Illinois, Ohio, and their home state of Wisconsin. Both the men and women's teams have found success each step of the way, with seven top three finishes in the final meets leading to the DadVail Regatta in Philadelphia.

University of Wisconsin Tri-Meet (Men's Race)
The men battled two Big Ten schools at this race, facing off against University of Wisconsin and the University of Minnesota. While they finished third out of three teams in all but one competition, their pace and times were there to show the improvement that the coaching staff has been looking for all season.

2019 Illinois Collegiate Rowing Invitational (Women's Race)
In one of the only women's exclusive events of the season, the Red & White headed to Farmers Lake, Illinois to go up against sixth other teams in two different races. Even though the varsity team is still trying to put everything together, the women's novice team took about big step forward towards what would be the biggest moment of their season at the MACRA.

2019 MACRA Championships
At the MACRA Championships which were held in Ohio this past Sunday, the team had to overcome adversity just to participate. Thanks to an incident with their main shell, the women's novice team had to use a backup that was older than any of the student-athletes using it at 23 years old. This didn't stop them however, as the WN4 took home first place in convincing fashion. Every other team had great first heats, but took a step back in the finals, finishing no better than fifth.
