MILWAUKEE – Jessica Ott, head coach of the MSOE women's basketball team and assistant athletic director, has resigned to accept the position of director of athletics and head basketball coach at Alverno College in Milwaukee.
Ott has spent the last 15 years at MSOE, including the last 14 as head women's basketball coach.
"We are grateful to Jess for her years of service to MSOE Athletics" MSOE Director of Athletics Brian Miller said. "She has proven to be a tremendous coach and an invaluable member this department. I speak for our entire staff when I say we are excited for her as she takes the next step in her career at Alverno."
Ott has built up the Raider women's basketball program in her tenure, leading MSOE to its first winning season, tying or breaking school records for wins four times and posting the first 20-win season in 2014-15. For her efforts, she has been twice named Northern Athletics Conference Coach of the Year and posted her 100th career coaching win during the 2013-14 season.
The 2014-15 was a monumental step forward for the program, as it went 20-7 and finished third in the NACC with a 15-5 conference mark. The Raiders hosted a conference tournament game for the second time ever and won its second tournament game.
Last season, MSOE went 18-8 and posted a program-best 16-4 NACC record. Denfeld won the Josten's Trophy, was an All-America Honorable Mention honoree and the NACC Player of the Year. The Raiders swept the league's player of the year awards as Megan Kroll was selected as the Defensive Player of the Year.
