Women's Volleyball Voted 10th In Preseason Poll

MILWAUKEE – After finishing in tenth place last season, the MSOE women's volleyball team is looking to rebound in 2019. Unfortunately, the NACC preseason poll sees them staying put as they were voted to finish in the same exact spot during this year's campaign.

The poll, which is conducted by the conference office and voted on by the NACC's women's volleyball head coaches and sports information directors, ranked Aurora at the top of the list with 333 points, including 21 first place votes. Second ranked Concordia Wisconsin was the only other team that received votes with five, while Dominican rounded out the top three.

The Lady Raiders finished last season with a 10-19 record, including a 3-9 mark in NACC play. Even though their record was six games below .500 in conference action, they finished only four games out of a postseason tournament spot. With six seniors departing after last season however, the entire team will need to step up in order to move north in the conference standings.

Head coach Tom Wood will have them focused coming out of the gate, as they play ten games over the course of the first three weeks of the season. Their 2019 campaign starts this Friday when they take on both UW-Whitewater and Carleton at the UW-Whitewater Invitational. Up first will be the host team starting at 2:30 pm, while the neutral court match against the Knights begins at 7:00 pm.
