NCHA Names Woodman Defensive Player of the Week

MILWAUKEE – Senior Zach Woodman of the MSOE hockey team has been named the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association Defensive Player of the Week for Oct. 30, the league office announced Tuesday.

Woodman allowed just one goal in two games for the Raiders last weekend, shutting out No. 11-ranked UW-Eau Claire Friday and beating UW-River Falls Saturday. He conceded just one goal on 58 shots faced, including 31 saves against UWEC. Woodman stopped 26 more shots on Friday. He has the best save percentage and fewest goals allowed of any Division III goalie that played in two games last weekend and posted one of three shutouts in Division III.

MSOE opens league play this weekend with a road trip to Finlandia Friday and No. 1/3 St. Norbert Saturday.
