AURORA, Ill. – Men's soccer was looking to get back above the .500 mark when they headed to Illinois to take on Aurora University. Unfortunately, the Spartans had other ideas, limiting the Raiders to just one goal in their 2-1 victory.
MSOE – 1
Aurora – 2
HOW IT HAPPENED
MSOE (3-4-1, 1-1 NACC) struck first this afternoon, as Lucas D'Amato netted this third goal of the season at the 20' mark. Unfortunately, the Raiders would be stonewalled from there. While no one scored for the rest of the first half, Aurora (4-4, 2-0 NACC) was the sole owner of the two goals that occurred in the second. The Spartans put the tying goal in the back of the net shortly after the second frame began and added the game winning goal about 15 minutes later. The Raiders had just under 30 minutes to score again, but were unable to convert on the four shots they took before the final horn sounded in their first NACC loss of the year.
WHO'S ON DECK
The men will be back at Viets for their next game, taking on Edgewood this Wednesday at 7:00 pm.
