MILWAUKEE – Already a Preseason All-American ahead of the 2018 season, junior Emily Snow of the MSOE softball team was named to 2018 Schutt Sports/NFCA Division III National Player of the Year watch list Tuesday.
Snow was named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-America Second Team last season as the program's first-ever All-American. She was picked for FPN's Division III Preseason All-America Second Team last month.
Snow played in 39 games last season, reaching base safely in each of her last 37 appearances to set a NACC record. She led the league in hitting at .477 and the nation with 23 doubles—another league record. She posted two 18-game hitting streaks, including an active run to end the year, and broke school records for hits (62) and RBIs in a season. Snow, who threw out 11 would-be base-stealers behind the plate, was named the NACC Player of the Year and repeated as an all-conference first-team selection.
The Raiders won a school-record 29 games last season and return eight starters from last season.
The 2018 season gets underway in Florida Feb. 26 with games against Hanover and Alma.
