MEQUON, Wis. – Emily Wiederholt (Cuba City, Wis./Cuba City) was masterful in her complete game performance, and Rachel Ziemba (South Elgin, Ill./South Elgin) had two RBIs as the MSOE Raiders softball team split their doubleheader against Concordia-Wisconsin on a chilly Sunday afternoon in Mequon.

RESULTS
Game One:
MSOE Raiders – 2
Concordia-Wisconsin – 0

Game Two:
MSOE Raiders – 1
Concordia-Wisconsin – 5

HOW IT HAPPENED
If you enjoy the suspense of a pitcher's duel, then the first game of the afternoon would have provided much enjoyment. MSOE (12-6, 3-1 NACC) starter Emily Wiederholt went the distance, throwing seven innings of scoreless softball, only give up four hits and one walk. Wiederholt also struck out four batters but would still need some offensive production to get her fourth win of the season. CUW (6-7, 1-1 NACC) pitching didn't budge an inch either, allowing only two Raiders hits. The only run of the game was scored when Rachel Ziemba, who had both hits for MSOE in the contest, doubled to center field to score Alyssa Baffin (Burbank, Ill./Reavis) with one out in the fifth inning. The Falcons got the tying run on in their last at bat but failed to push her across in the Raiders 1-0 victory.

Concordia-Wisconsin's bats came alive in the second half of the twin bill, but the Raiders sticks would stay quiet. MSOE managed to increase their hit total to six in the ballgame, but still only pushed one run across. Ziemba would get her second RBI on the afternoon when she grounded out allowing Gabi Roderman (League City, Texas/Clear Springs) to score in the top of the third to tie the game at 1-1. Unfortunately, that would be the last run they scored as the Falcons scored three more in the bottom of the fifth and one in the sixth to take game two 5-1.

RAIDER REMARKS
