SHEBOYGAN, Wis. – Lakeland ended the game on a 15-2 run to overcome a deficit and hand the MSOE women's basketball team a 68-62 loss Wednesday night at Woltzen Gymnasium.
The Raiders (12-7, 10-4 NACC) led 60-53 with 5:33 remaining, but missed their final 10 shot attempts as the Muskies (8-11, 5-9 NACC) were able to complete their comeback.
Leah Eisner led Lakeland with 21 points. Trista Barron scored 12 and Bailey Grayvold added 10 off the bench.
The Red and White shot 56 percent in the first half and carried a 33-26 lead into halftime. After the break, the team struggled to find its shot, hitting just 30.8 percent in the frame. Meanwhile, Lakeland rebound from a 34.6 percent first half to hit on 50 percent of its attempts in the second half.
After halftime, the Raiders built their lead as high as 11, but the Muskies started to whittle away at the deficit. They would eventually knot the game at 47-47. The home team held a brief lead at 51-49, but MSOE answered back. The team rattled off eight-straight points for a 57-51 advantage at 5:46.
The Red and White's lead rose to 60-53 at 5:20, but LC stormed back and finished the game strong.
MSOE returns to action Saturday, hitting the road to play at Rockford.
