MILWAUKEE – MSOE women's soccer was looking to make it four in a row on a damp, dreary Saturday afternoon at Viets Field. Though they held the visiting Green Knights of St. Norbert to a lone goal, the Red & White weren't able to net any themselves after a six-goal burst on Wednesday evening.
St. Norbert – 1
MSOE – 0
HOW IT HAPPENED
Most of the game went by without much fanfare this afternoon. Even though MSOE (3-3-1) and St. Norbert (3-5-0) combined for 23 shots, only 13 of those found its way to the keeper. Most of the attempts were weak shots, thrown up towards the goal in hopes of a misplay or rebound. MSOE had two golden opportunities in each half to get on the scoreboard, but both went by the wayside. In both instances, Caitie LeVasseur had a breakaway chance but got too close to the goalkeeper and wasn't able to get a shot off.
The only score on the afternoon occurred at the 85' mark when Lisa Beine redirected the ball at the lip of the goal to get the Green Knights on the board. With just five minutes left, St. Norbert didn't let the Raiders set up anything, possessing the ball in their attacking end as they had been doing for much of the game game. In fact, SNC had control of the ball in 56% of the match. MSOE wasn't able to get a shot off in the last 6:45 to fall back to .500 on the season.
- Out of the Raiders seven games played, nine of their 12 goals have occurred in just two.
- This was the third time the Raiders have been shut out this season.
