STEVENS POINT, Wis. – Raiders women' volleyball was looking to get back into the win column after a hard fought five set loss last night to UW-Oshkosh to open the UW-Stevens Point Pointers Invitational. Unfortunately, they weren't able to win a set against either UW-Stout or North Park on Saturday afternoon to finish the invite 0-3.
MSOE – 0 (18, 22, 13)
UW-Stout – 3 (25, 25, 25)
MSOE – 0 (17, 15,
North Park – 3 (25, 25, 25)
HOW IT HAPPENED
MSOE (5-11, 1-0 NACC) only had one more error than UW-Stout (11-4) in their first match of the morning, but the Blue Devils controlled the game offensively. Stout averaged a hitting percentage of .227 in the three sets and tallied a total of 36 kills. In comparison, the Raiders put up .114 and 25 in those respective departments. The Blue Devils were awarded 15 points on aces alone as the Red & White manage to score over 20 in just one set in the 3-0 loss.
It was a three-set loss against North Park as well in the second match of the day. The Raider offense just couldn't get anything going, committing 17 attack errors, four service errors, and hit just .072. The Vikings hit .240, had 16 more kills, and even though they committed 10 service errors, they still accumulated nine aces. No Red & White student-athlete registered double digits in kills or digs in the loss to wrap up the invitational.
