Women's Cross Country Finishes in Top Half at WLC

GREENFIELD, Wisconsin – Juniors Alex Muench and Becky Sondelski each finished among the top 50 to lead the MSOE women's cross country team to eighth-place in a field of 16 teams at the WLC Invitatonal Saturday at Greenfield Park.

The Raiders finished with a team score of 249 points and was the fourth NACC team among seven competing.

Muench led the way with a time of 27:32.83, taking 41st overall. Meanwhile, Sondelski rounded out the top 50 with a time of 28:05.98.

MSOE's remaining three scorers were each in the top75, as junior Desy Echevarria took 59th in 28:26.81. Freshman Morgan Balog was 70th in 28:55.08 and sophomore Grace Kusik placed 75th in 29:08.97.

The team's top seven also included freshman Jordan Sanders in 89th place with a time of 29:33.62 and sophomore Patty Bray just over seven seconds back with a time of 29:40.75 and in 90th place.

The Raiders are back in action next weekend at the Gene Davis Invitational, hosted by Lawrence in Appleton, Wisconsin.
